Modern building materials

Environmental issues currently rule the world, and this is not the case in the construction industry either. There is talk of modern buildings and even more modern building materials. By no means do we mean meaningless energy consumers, but buildings made of materials based on an ecological or green approach and respecting the ideas of sustainable development with minimal impact on the environment.

We refer to these materials as alternative, natural or traditional building materials. These include, in particular, wood, straw, clay, sheep’s wool, cork, hemp, cane and cellulose. Although many of them have been used by mankind for construction for millennia, in the last century they have been abandoned under the influence of “modern” materials and technologies. However, increasing environmental awareness, combined with a growing number of allergies and asthma diseases, has recalled them, and people are returning to these proven materials.
